We’d like to invite all parents to attend a training session with Mary Weston, on how to support children across all year groups and abilities with reading. Mary is a reading specialist and has years of experience in the importance of reading with children, and how to recognise and adapt to supporting different reading abilities and styles. We feel this training will be invaluable for all parents to support their children with reading, not only to help them overcome any obstacles to literacy, but to support keen readers too, and develop a love of reading for all ages and abilities.
We believe this is a really important part of children’s learning, and Mary will be delivering training to Teachers, TAs and our community volunteers that come in to read with the children as well.
We have scheduled the parent session for 8.30 – 9am on Friday 6th December, in the hope that as many parents as possible will be able to attend immediately after dropping children off in the morning, to support the consistency in approach between home and school. Please RSVP using the link below by 8am Monday 25th Nov.
