Year 2 have had great fun at Forest School this term. I introduced them to the Magpie Game, collecting shiny medals from around the field to keep in their nests, only to be stolen by other greedy magpies! We have started to learn to use some tools and the children loved making their own wooden hedgehogs. They sanded down the wood to create a smooth shape and then hammered nails to create the hedgehog’s spines.
Some of the children have also had the chance to try out the hand drill to make conker streamers. After drilling a hole in the conker, they poked ribbons through to create an amazing flying conker comet! We will continue with these after half term.
