Finding their balance in EYFS & KS1

On Monday we were very fortunate to have Mr Cleal from Cleal’s Wheels join us at Brill School. Having worked with Cleal’s Wheels in the past, I know the power of the balance bike and the key to supporting physical development, specifically in balance and co-ordination at such a key age. The results were magnificent with many smiling faces and both children and adults wanting more time on the bikes!

All children from Year R, Year 1 and Year 2 took part in the balance bike taster session to enrich our physical development and sport offer at school, because sport is for all! The sessions were possible thanks to PE and Sports Premium funding, and the children got a taste of using the balance bikes along a track and over obstacles to improve balance, resilience and pure enjoyment of being out on a bike. Supporting the mental and physical wellbeing of our little ones is key along with encouraging and enjoying an active lifestyle. The sessions also provided a longer-term benefit, as we have been fortunate enough to invest in four balance bikes for the outdoor area in Year R, ensuring future balance bike opportunities for our youngest children. The Year R children are delighted and cannot wait to get going on them!

Please do enjoy the photos and catch me if you want to find out any more information.
