SEN at Brill

We believe that the best support we can provide for all children, including those with additional needs, is to prepare them for life beyond Brill C of E School. Our approach is a holistic one where we aim to help the children to understand any particular barriers they may have and then focus on strategies to support them with these additional difficulties.

Upcoming SEN events

The booking window is currently open on Arbor for SEN review appts, and our new monthly SEN coffee morning for parents will be starting in February, and these will continue on the first Friday of every month. We will also be running a dyslexia workshop for parents next half term, and more details of this will follow closer to the time.

Launch of the Parent’s Portal by Autism Early Support

The Parent’s Portal by Autism Early Support (AES) has launched in Buckinghamshire as a free resource for local parents (click here to register). Buckinghamshire Council have partnered with the creators of the platform, specialist local charity Autism Early Support, to offer this service at no cost for families that live in Buckinghamshire.

The portal provides early help and guidance and an online community of support. It is a self-guided learning tool, designed for parents of children aged 2-17 years who:

  • Have noticed differences in their child and they’re exploring neurodivergence.
  • Have Googled, ‘Is my child autistic, or what is ADHD?’.
  • Have an autistic child(ren).
  • Are awaiting a Neurodevelopmental assessment.

If your child is on our SEN register, don’t forget to book your SEN review for this term, the portal is open now on Arbor, or if you have any other questions regarding SEN support at Brill, please contact me on n.carman@brillschool.org.uk
