It is a real privilege to be Headteacher of Brill Church of England School and to lead such a warm, vibrant and caring school community.
Having now completed my first year at Brill, I feel incredibly proud of all that we have achieved together and excited about the journey ahead. Brill is a school with a very special character: our children are at the heart of everything we do, our staff care deeply about giving them the very best and we are fortunate to be surrounded by a wonderfully supportive community.
Our vision: With the wind in our sails, we shall live ‘life in all its fullness.’ (John 10:10), reflects exactly what we want for every child who comes through our doors. We want our children to be happy and confident, to be curious and ambitious, to embrace opportunities and challenges and to leave Brill with wonderful memories and a genuine love of learning.
Our Christian values of Honesty, Hope, Courage and Compassion underpin school life and help our children understand not only how to achieve, but how to grow into thoughtful, kind and responsible young people. As a Church of England school, our Christian foundation is central to who we are, while families of all faiths and none are warmly welcomed, valued and included within our Brill family.
We have high expectations for our children, both academically and personally. We believe primary school should be about far more than what happens inside the classroom. We want to open children’s eyes to the world around them, give them experiences that inspire them and encourage them to be bold, be brave and be Brill-iant.
One of Brill’s greatest strengths is the partnership between our children, families, staff, governors, church and wider village community. By working together, listening to one another and always keeping our children at the centre of our decisions, we can continue to make Brill an exceptional place to learn and grow.
If you are already part of our school community, thank you for being part of what makes Brill so special. If you are considering Brill for your child, I warmly invite you to come and visit us. There really is no better way to understand our school than to meet our children and staff and experience Brill for yourself.
I am enormously proud to be Headteacher of Brill School and very excited about everything that lies ahead.
Warmest wishes,
Mrs Rebecca Smith
Headteacher
