Year 2

A warm welcome from Mrs Lynn Brannan, Year Two Class Teacher.

I am delighted to be the Year Two maternity cover teacher whilst Mrs Chanery is on maternity leave. I am a passionate and experienced teacher who holds a PGCE and has a Primary specialism in EYFS and Key Stage One, having trained at the University of East Anglia. With plenty of experience in the classroom, I am dedicated to creating a happy, supportive environment where children feel confident, curious, and excited to learn.

A real love of stories and reading is at the heart of our classroom. Some thoroughly enjoyable favourites I would recommend include, The Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket and the ever-popular Horrid Henry books, which help spark imagination, laughter, and a lifelong love of books.

We’re looking forward to a fun-filled year of learning, discovery, and plenty of smiles in Year Two! Over the course of my career so far, I have gained experience across a range of settings, which has helped shape my approach in the classroom and strengthened my belief that every child can thrive when they feel supported, inspired and understood and we remember too, we have a lion’s courage as we all, are only learning.

Here is some helpful information for you.

We have book change on a Monday and a Friday.

Spelling and Maths homework go out on a Friday and are returned on a Wednesday.

PE is on a Tuesday and Wednesday

Forest School is on Thursday and the class are split into two groups.
