Year 4

Welcome to the Year 4 page!

My name is Mrs Brannan

Welcome to our Year Four Class Page.

Our PE days are Monday and Tuesday, so please ensure your child comes to school in the correct PE kit on these days.

A key focus in Year 4 is learning and recalling times tables. Towards the end of the year, pupils will complete a national times tables check. Strong multiplication knowledge is also essential for many areas of mathematics, including division, fractions and problem solving.

To support this at home, I strongly encourage regular practice using Times Tables Rock Stars or any other preferred table practice method, such as flashcards, quizzes or online games. Even a few minutes of daily practice can make a big difference.

I encourage all Year 4 pupils to read at least three times a week to help develop fluency, comprehension and a love of books. This can include reading aloud, sharing a book together, or discussing what has been read. Regular reading supports progress across the whole curriculum, including writing, and helps build confidence with new vocabulary and understanding.

Thank you for your continued support.
