There has been enormous joy from the class as they have got to know our offsite Forest School environment – certainly some tired legs on the way back after the morning session though! The children have enthusiastically explored every nook and cranny, including balancing on some newly created branch beams and climbing the steep banks using our ropes… then seeing who has been brave enough to abseil back down. It has been wonderful to see confidence develop over the weeks. The children have shown impressive knowledge about their topic of the Stone Age as we have created our own “cave” paintings using blackberries, whittled some terrifying looking spears for hunting the woolly mammoths and worked collaboratively as a “family” to build suitable living spaces. Well done Year 3, it has been a busy few weeks!
